Janice "Jan" Helen Taylor

Janice Helen "Jan" Taylor, 79, of East Peoria, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Accolade Healthcare of East Peoria. She was born on May 21, 1944, a daughter of Elmer W. Binkele and Lucille M. (Murray) Binkele. They preceded her in death.

Jan married Foy Hugh Taylor on March 6, 1965 at First United Methodist Church in East Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1991 in Peoria.

Jan is survived by her two sisters, Sandra Pendola of Lockport, IL and Ruth Heiniger of Germantown Hills, IL. She is also survived by her two daughters, Catherine (Tod) Rigdon and Margaret “Peggy” Russell, both of Manito, IL; four grandchildren, Avery Rigdon of Pekin, IL, Shelby Rigdon of Springfield, IL, Katie Russell of St. Louis, MO, and Lauren Russell, of Manito, IL; and two great-grandchildren, Inara and Analeigh Stoehr, both of Pekin, IL.

She was a graduate of East Peoria Community High School, Class of 1962 where she was a cheerleader for four years. She also attended Bradley University.

Jan worked as an administrative assistant for the Tazewell County Health Department for several years, retiring in 2007.

Janice loved dogs, in particular, Cocker Spaniels. She loved and was completely devoted to each one she had. She leaves behind her Cockapoo, Lucy.

There will be no services at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Inurnment will take place in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria at a later date.
