He was born January 9, 1938 in .... Arkansas, the son of Leland and Irene Tisdale Hatten. He married Donna on October 24, 1959. She survives.
Ernest is also survived by one daughter, Kathy (Steve) Raithel of East Peoria; two sons, Donald Morgan of Spring, TX, and Richard (Sandra) Morgan of East Peoria; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Patsy (Wendel) Jones of Oklahoma; and two brothers, Leland (Rosalee) Hatten of East Peoria, and Charles (Irma) Hatten of Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.
Ernest was an electrician at Caterpillar until his retirement.
Ernest was a great man with endless skills. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, working, and most importantly spending quality time with his family. Ernest loved and trusted the Lord and never met a stranger. He taught all who knew him how to love and be kind to others. We will certainly see him in Heaven someday.
There will be a graveside service for family and friends at 11 am Friday, February 22, 2019 at Fondulac Township Cemetery. Pastor Jack Thompson will officiate.
Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
There will be a Celebration of Life following services at Creve Coeur Community Center.
