She was born in Peoria, Illinois on November 16, 1945, to the late Howard Krueger, Sr. and Georgia McQueary Krueger.
Diana resided in Peoria the majority of her life, and recently relocated to Jacksonville, Florida to be close to her daughter. She graduated from Manual High School in 1965 and shortly after started her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Diana loved helping others and enjoyed being able to give compassionate care to her patients.
She later embarked on a new journey at District 150 School System, serving as their School Bus Monitor. Early in life, Diana married her best friend and forever companion, Joseph George Stumpf. Diana and Joseph built a wonderful life, lovingly raising their son and daughter, and sharing 29 beautiful years together until his passing.
Their legacy will live on through their daughter and continue to impact their family. Diana was a longtime member of Sunnyland Church of the Nazarene, currently known as Summit Nazarene in Washington, IL for over 40 years. She was an active member who loved worshipping her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and enjoyed fellowshipping with church family.
When not working or attending church, Diana was cheering for her Chicago Cubs. She was an avid fan who enjoyed watching all their games. Diana enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved having a refreshing diet coke or a Happy Meal from McDonalds, and especially enjoyed feeding her granddog, Roscoe pringles. She lived life to the fullest, always having fun and being ornery. Diana was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph George Stumpf; son, Joseph Howard Stumpf; brother, Howard Krueger, Jr.; sister, JoAnn Hunt; nephew, Billy Krueger; sister-in-law, Diane Fahnders; and brother-in-law, Kenny Hyder.
Diana is survived by her loving daughter, Jodi L. (Christopher, Sr.) Vason of Jacksonville, FL; sisters-in-law, Pam Hyder and Debbie Krueger; several nieces and nephews; and her granddog, Roscoe.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Remmert Funeral Home, 521 East Washington St. in East Peoria. Pastor Gretta will officiate. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
