He was born on March 2, 1949, in Peoria, to Donald and Kathleen (Totts) Addis. They preceded him in death.
David is also preceded by his long time girlfriend, Julia, and brother, Walter Addis.
He is survived by his son, David "James" (Amy) Addis of Bartonville; grandchildren, Trevor Addis and Sara (Colten) Smith; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Emma and Josie.
David worked in transportation for the Journal Star for nearly 20 years. He was an avid golfer.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital of Peoria.
