She was born on May 18, 1931 in Peoria, IL to Clarence E. and Margaret J. (Wickert) Dray.
Carol married Kenneth L. Summers Jr. on December 20, 1952 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2008 in Morton. She was also preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Elmer “Monk” Frederick and six siblings.
Caroline had a great zest for life and her biggest passion was her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to play cards, especially her nightly Rummy games with her husband. After Kenneth retired, they spent thirteen years traveling to South Texas for the winter months. She was a former member of St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria.
She is survived by her children: Steve (Robin) Summers of Peoria, Gary (Beth) Summers of Morton, Connie (Brian) Shepherd of East Peoria and Brad Summers of South Pekin, twelve grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild on the way, three step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Roberts Cemetery in Morton. Brother Brad Snoke will officiate.
