She was born Oct. 5, 1963 in Normal, IL to Lilbern and Betty (Brown) Gazelle. She married John Strube, Jr on May 14, 1988 in Peoria. He survives along with one daughter, Shelby (Darrin Drowns) Strube of West Peoria, two grandchildren: Davina and Cobain Drowns of West Peoria, one brother, William Gazelle of Bloomington, one sister, Linda (Mark) Langley of Peoria, and one brother-in-law, James (Diane) Strube of Peoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Patrick C. Strube, one brother, Les Gazelle, and one sister, Marty Richards.
Carol was an RN in the Peoria area and for the last 20 years worked at Unity Point Methodist specializing in Pediatric GI with Dr. Khaled.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Carol’s life will be Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 form 2 to 5 p.m. at the Itoo Banquet Hall in Peoria. Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
