Shirley Mae Reid

East Lansing

Passed away December 28, 2017 at the age of 94. Shirley was born September 17, 1923 in Detroit, MI to Edward and Josephine (Schulte) Ruhl. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, St. Lawrence Hospital, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the Mary Magdalen League and was Volunteer of the Year for the St. Lawrence Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marshall Reid, sons, Clay and Edward Reid, daughter, Pamela Underwood and grandsons, Matthew Underwood and Clay Reid.

Surviving are two sons, Robert (Ginny) Reid and Jeffrey (Jane) Reid; daughter, Connie (Ben) Twichell; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018, 11:00 a.m., St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing, MI with Rev. Mark Inglot officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 2, 6-8 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing and one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rosary will be prayed Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
