Sharon Ann Weaver passed away on November 28th, 2022 at the age of 81. She was born in Lansing, Michigan on September 8th, 1941 to Irene (Parks) Magee and Clarence “Bud” Magee. She married her husband Douglas Jay Weaver on June 30th, 1968 and they were together until his passing in 2018. Sharon went to Holt HS before going on to earn her Masters in Education from Michigan State University. She began her career as a school teacher before starting her family.
For those who didn’t get a chance to know or meet Sharon, she was a force to be reckoned with, and she was instrumental in the establishment of Douglas J. In 1967, Doug and Sharon established the Village Hair Shoppe, now known as Douglas J Salon & Spa – As a power couple, they were always pushing the boundaries of hairdressing and built the foundation for Douglas J. Her impact is still evident throughout the company today. Sharon was a member of Okemos Community Church and always looked for ways to give back and support her community. She was an avid tennis player and always loved boating and being on the water, but more than anything she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her dog, Coco.
She is survived by her children, T.J. (Julie) Weaver, Scott (Melanie) Weaver and Debbie Sweeney; and grandchildren, Samantha, Oliver, Morgyn and Avery. Sharon is predeceased by her parents, Irene and Bud; husband, Douglas; and brother, Gary Magee.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 16, 2023 at South Church, 5250 Cornerstone Dr, Lansing, MI 48917, at 12 noon with visitation one hour prior at the church.
