Ray Lewellyn Wilson Jr. was born on February 11, 1947 in Lansing, the son of Ray Lewellyn and Irene A. (Stephens) Wilson, Sr., passed away May 22, 2018 at the age of 71. Ray retired from General Motors after working 42 ½ years as a pipe-fitter/plumber. He married Joan Elaine (Schram) Wilson. Ray was a little league football and baseball coach for many years, scout master/weeblo leader, PTA President, Indian Guide, and an Army Veteran. Ray loved his family and was a great role model for the younger generation. He touched many lives in his leadership with the youth.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Ray Wilson IV; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Phyllis Schram; brothers, Dean and Robert Wilson; sister-in-law, Frances Briggs and brother-in-law, Morley Schram. Surviving are his wife Joan of 51 ½ years; sons, Ray III (Carrie) Wilson and Richard (Jennifer) Wilson; 8 grandchildren, Jessica Triplett, Niccole Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson, Alaina Wilson, Austin Wilson, Joseph Wilson and Brandon Wilson; brothers, Richard (Kathy) Wilson and Thomas (Andrea) Wilson; sister, Jerri (Jim) Musser; sister-in-law, Patricia (Morley) Schram; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the funeral home.
