Bath Township
Age 66, passed away on August 30, 2016. “Kris” was born December 28, 1949 into the arms of Walter and Virginia Wegner. She was a devoted wife and mother of three, who also worked for 30 years as a school bus driver in the Bath and Haslett area school districts.
Kris was an extremely hardworking, loving, GIVING, caretaker who made each child and adult she met feel at ease and extremely unique and special. Kris never wanted to be the center of attention but could win the attention and respect of a busload of kids with her gentle and unrelenting patience. She was a diligent friend and her generosity and faith knew no bounds. She could be counted on to provide a warm hug, cup of coffee or even a meal, anytime of day as anyone who dropped by the house knew.
Kris was dedicated to her work at the school and caring for her family. Once retired, she enjoyed listening to music, socializing with friends, gardening, and watching the birds and wildlife from the vantage of her backyard patio. She watched, and saw the best in all of us. And she will certainly continue to live in the hearts of those whose lives she touched in her all-too short time on this earth.
Kris was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jody Schemanske.
Surviving is her husband Kim, son Scott Frank, daughters Michelle Dugan and Stephanie Draeger, grandchild Krystal Dugan and brothers, Dick, Dennis and Tracy Wegner.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, with Rev. Thomas Van Dyke officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
