Joanne L. Ray, age 89, of Okemos, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 to Colon Cancer. Joanne was born May 31, 1933 in Lansing, Michigan to Alden and Dorothy Brewbaker. Joanne went to Okemos High School. She married DeVear W. Fuller in July of 1950, they had 5 children and were married until his passing in November of 1963. She married Elwin C. Ray, May 1, 1970 and the two were married until his passing in 2008. Joanne loved knitting and crocheting, she was known for her handmade scrubbies. She also loved traveling in her motorhome. Joanne is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Ken) Miller, Carlene Hooker, Linda (Jack) Mahoney, Teresa Ward; 8 grandkids, 9 great-grandkids. Joanne is preceded in death by her husbands, DeVear W. Fuller and Elwin C. Ray; Son, Rex A. Fuller; parents, Alden and Dorothy Brewbaker; brother, Alden Brewbaker; and sister, Ina Mae Richards.
A visitation for Joanne will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI 48823, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Joanne will be laid to rest in East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos, Michigan.
Serving as pallbearers are Ken Miller, Jack Mahoney, Michael Mahoney, Chris Meoak, Jamie Meoak and Nick Hooker.
