Joanne Lee Foote

Joanne was born to Lester and Alta Carrington on April 13, 1932. She graduated from Haslett High School, where she met and later married Irwin P. Foote and remained married for 59 years before his death in 2010. Spending most of their lives in Haslett before retiring to their home on Horsehead Lake, and together they raised three children, Mark (Jenny) Foote, Sherry Foote Lott and Craig (Debbie) Foote. She was a loving mother and ‘grammie’ to her six grandchildren, Charity Hernandez, Lori (Ryan) VanBecelaere, Jason Lott, Jenny (Steve) Brimley, Jamie (Ryan) Holbrook and Adam (Megan) Lott. She was also blessed with fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, all of whom cherished their time with her.

Joanne is survived by her children; grandchildren; sister, Lila Falk, and sister-in-law Delores Foote, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Irwin; an infant daughter, Karen; her parents; sister, Mary and brother, Lavern.

She was a long-time member of Haslett Community Church, where she taught Sunday School and helped with the Caring Committee. She worked as a cook for the Haslett School District for many years and the Uniform Center in Frandor, her real love was spending time with her family and friends. She loved to read, paint, watching birds and the stars, watching the loons on the lake outside her window. She fell in love with the beauty and sounds of the mountains and ocean from her travels with her husband during his military service.

The funeral services will be held Friday, March 1st at 10:00 am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 E. Grand River Ave. East Lansing, Michigan. A luncheon will follow Internment at Foote Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home.
