Born July 18, 1928 in Long Beach, California, Louise grew up in Seminole, Plainview, and at the Hendrick Home for Children in Abilene, Texas. Louise attended Hardin Simmons University and was the first college graduate from Hendrick Home for Children. She met the love of her life, Jack Pfeifer, while he was stationed at Camp Barkley in Abilene, Texas. They married and Jack brought his beautiful Cowgirl to Michigan in 1949 where they started a family – Laura, Carol, David, and Patricia.
Louise was a Pink Lady volunteer at Sparrow Hospital, President of Lansing Sea Sprites synchronized swimming club, and helped create the local Parkinson’s Support Group. Louise shared her love of Christ as a Born Again, Spirit-filled Women’s Aglow Bible Study group leader for decades.
The family is especially grateful to caregiver Jen Gilpin who helped care for Louise the last year of her life.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Pfeifer (1994) and her daughter, Carol Ann Rhodes (2012).
