Anne Ruth Grein, 75, of Okemos, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, April 18th, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born December 18th, 1942 in Lansing, Michigan to John M. Carter and Kathryn (Moran) Carter.
Anne met her husband George L. Grein at the University of Detroit while studying dental hygiene. They married in August of 1963 and raised three phenomenal children. Anne will be remembered for her absolute devotion to family and friends. She laughed often, and out loud, and had an outstanding sense of humor. Anne loved with vigor and made those around her feel as if they were the center of the universe.
She lived life to the fullest and was not afraid to cause a little trouble! As is the case with all talented storytellers, she never let the facts get in the way of a good story. Her cooking filled the soul and warmed the heart. Anne possessed impeccable class and taste. Her bright, and often mischievous, smile will be
remembered by all who knew her.
Anne is survived by her husband George; children: Kris Grein, Liz Bretl and her husband, Jim, and John Grein and his wife, Dee; grandchildren: Max Bretl, Luna Bretl, Anna Bretl, Sofia Grein and Kate Grein; brothers: John Carter, and Dick Carter and his husband, John MacMillan; and grandpups: Tommy, Ava, Bruno, and George. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Kathryn.
A celebration of life will be held this summer at her happy place, Shamrock Hill, Higgins Lake, MI.
