Ruth F. Glover, known lovingly as Ruthie, passed away on January 5, 2024. She was born on January 29, 1928, in Lowell, Massachusetts. Ruthie, a proud retired postal worker, lived a remarkable life filled with kindness, independence, and a passion for animals.
Ruthie was a sweet and kind-hearted woman who had a special affinity for animals. She regularly donated to the Humane Society, demonstrating her deep compassion and love for animals. In her leisure time, Ruthie enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo and going to the casino with her best friend Isabelle. Their friendship spanned nearly three decades, and Isabelle and her children considered Ruthie a part of the family.
Ruthie will be deeply missed by her surviving loved ones. She is survived by her nephew David Grenier and his son Matthew, her niece Sandra Harrison and her children Brian Harrison and Jennifer Titelbaum, as well as her nieces Adrienne and Cynthia. She is also survived by her “adopted” family, best friend Isabelle Denault and her children, Andre & Anne Denault, Francine & Jim Roy, Robert Denault & Shari Banks-Swaney, Donald Denault and Joanne Denault, as well as her dear friends and neighbors of over 30 years Cathy Wynne and Bob Murphy.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents Eva (Chadwick) & Arthur Glover, as well as her sister Doris Grenier and brother John Glover. Their memories will forever be cherished.
In honor of Ruthie’s life and her passion for animals, contributions can be made to the CT Humane Society. This organization was dear to her heart and would greatly appreciate any support in her memory.
We’d like to thank the entire staff at Manchester Manor, who took great care of her in her final days.
Ruthie’s kind heart, love for animals and cherished friendships made her a truly remarkable person. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and independence that will continue to inspire those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
