Pedro Jose Roman, 59, of East Hartford, passed away unexpectedly at home in the early hours of Friday, November 23, 2018. He was born in Puerto Rico to Pedro Roman and the late Josefina Centeno on June 24, 1959. Pedro loved to travel and after going from the east side of the country to the west side and back again, he settled for many years in Hartford before moving in with his cherished daughter and her family in East Hartford eight years ago.
Pedro adored his grandkids, Yunis, Liyeniz and Joseph, and spent many hours caring for them and spoiling them. He was always on the move from going fishing to riding his scooter all over town, fixing his truck, flying down to Puerto Rico to see his children or simply going to the park and sitting with his friends while listening to his favorite music, salsa, merengue or bachata. While his cooking left much to be desired, he loved doing it for his family and collecting random items to surprise his daughter with.
Pedro will forever be remembered and missed by his children, Maria Del Carmen Roman, Jose Roman and Brenda Roman, all of Puerto Rico, Lissette Roman and her husband Yunis Tavarez of East Hartford, and Jennifer Roman of Florida; several grandchildren; a sister, Petra Roman and a brother, Efrain Roman, both of Puerto Rico, as well as many other siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pedro’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday (November 29th) from 5 – 7 pm, concluding with a few fond memories at 7 pm at the D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1463 Highland Ave, Cheshire, CT 06410.
