Maureen Doran, 84, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Michael Doran, died peacefully on May 4, 2013 surrounded by her family. Maureen was born in Lurgan, Co. Armagh, N. Ireland and immigrated to the US in 1960. She was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church in East Hartford. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is predeceased by her precious daughter, Maureen (Doran) Haddock, her three sisters, Elizabeth Seeley, Molly Quinn and Isabel McCrory, and her brother, Joseph Smyth. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews in N. Ireland and Australia. She leaves behind her very dear cousin, Shiela McCusker of England. She also leaves behind her dear friend, Esther Doyle.
She is survived by her children, Deirdre St. George of East Hartford, Thomas and his wife, Elena Doran of East Hartford, Damian and his wife, Jean Doran of East Hartford, Donna and her husband, Kenny McMullan of East Hartford, Michael and his wife, Kathy Doran of Coventry, and Lisa and her husband, Richard Corrao of Manchester as well as her 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Road, East Hartford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at Newkirk-Whitney, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford.
