Mary Ann Henry, 84, of Vernon CT, wife of the late Joseph Henry, passed away on April 18, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 30, 1928 in Hartford to the late Levi and Margaret (Blanchard) LeBlanc. She earned a Registered Nursing Degree from Hartford Hospital School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science Degree from New Hampshire College. Mary Ann resided in Vernon for over 55 years. She was employed by Visiting Nurses Association and Rockville Hospital retiring after 25 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Hartford Hospital Alumni Association.
Mary Ann was a loving mother, devoted to her family. She enjoyed the beach and spending her winters in Florida. She will be most remembered for her sense of humor.
She is survived by her son; Joseph Henry and his wife Karen of South Windsor, CT., her daughters; Susan Linstrum and her husband Raymond of Redding, CT., Mona Henry of Franklin, MA., and Karen Andrews of Lakeworth, FL. Mary Ann will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren; Erik & Allison Linstrum, Matthew, Melissa and Sean Henry, Joseph Andrews, and her great grandchildren; Anthony & Benjamin Sharpe.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary Ann is predeceased by her daughter Margaret “Peggy”.
Calling hours will be Monday, April 22nd., 2013 from 4-7pm at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue., East Hartford, CT 06108. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 550 Hartford Tpk., Vernon, CT. Please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Rockville.
