Luba L. (Letzuk) Jeffrey, 98, passed away and reunited with her late husband James Jeffrey on Thursday, June 20, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 18, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Mary (Wishinski) Letzuk. Luba spent her career and took pride in raising her family. In her free time, Luba enjoyed cooking and baking, making sure everyone was well fed. She also enjoyed watching game shows and soap operas along with knitting. Most of all, Luba enjoyed being surrounded by her family.
Luba is survived by her four children; James Jeffrey of Texas, Frances Richardson and her husband Donald of East Hartford, Irene Fisher of East Hartford, and Maryann Vassar and her husband Thomas of Manchester. Five adored granddaughters; Christine, Arlene and her husband Jim, Jodie and her fiancé Steve, Amy and her husband Timothy, and Nicole. Six cherished great-grandchildren; Matthew, Gina, Tyler, Jeffrey, Aubrey, and Cole. Along with her husband, Luba is predeceased by her son Donald Jeffrey, a son-in-law Roland Fisher, a grandson Mark, and her four sisters.
Luba’s family would also like to give a very special thank you to the staff at TouchPoints at Chestnut, East Windsor for the loving care they showed Mom during her six years there. And especially during her last few days. They treated her with love and respect, and we could not have found a better place for Mom to live out her remaining years. The staff is like a second family to us and we will be forever grateful. A special shout out to Morliana (Moe). She is like another daughter to Mom. Mom even earned the nickname of “The Queen”. And now, The Queen has gone home to rest.
Luba’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 10:30 am – 12 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St. East Hartford.
