Lewis A. DeLuca, 70, of East Hartford, passed away on Friday, July 12 at Hartford Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Anthony and Helena (Tefts) DeLuca. He grew up in Glastonbury and graduated from Glastonbury High School in 1961. He will be dearly missed by his sister, Caryl DeLuca; his two sons, David DeLuca and his wife, Shari, and grand-niece, Jenna Garrison of Glastonbury; his son Daniel DeLuca and his wife, Allison of Coventry; his grandchildren Jakeb and Sydney. Lewis served his country honorably with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from Colt’s Manufacturing Co. in 2011 after 49 years of dedicated service. Lewis enjoyed vacationing with his family with annual trips to Newport, RI, and visiting Walt Disney World.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 16 at 11 a.m. at The Lutheran Church of Saint Mark, 75 Griswold St., Glastonbury. Burial will be private with interment at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Westfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Lutheran Church of Saint Mark Memorial Fund.
