Gloria Barnard, 80, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Born in Hartford on June 7, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Barnard and Marion (Bailey) Barnard Burdick. Gloria worked for many years for the Connecticut Labor Department in their unemployment division. She was a member of the East Hartford Moose Lodge #1477 and enjoyed playing cards, Yahtzee, puzzles and fishing.
Gloria will be dearly missed by her sister, Sandra Quinn of Maricopa, Arizona; sister, Debbie Ahern and brother, William Barnard, both of East Hartford and her two favorite nieces, Lisa Ahern and Rianna Torres. She will also be very much missed by her devoted dog, Daisy. In addition to her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Macintosh, Edna Longo, Sharon Barnard and Marion Amiel and her brothers, James Barnard, Leroy Barnard and Ralph Barnard.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, December 28 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. concluding with a brief Prayer Service at 1 p.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford.
