Sadly, the family of David Cyr, 69, announces his passing into eternal life with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. David was born in Van Buren, Maine on October 30, 1953, one of 11 children of the late Amedee J. and Marie Mae (Desjardin) Cyr. The family moved to Southbridge, MA where he graduated from Marian Hill High School in 1972. Dave was a hard worker and worked at UNICO Cleaning Company for many years as a manager. He enjoyed walking and spending time with his dog and loved ones. Dave had a generous and kind heart, and will be missed by all who knew him.
He leaves his daughter Robin M. Cyr of Glastonbury, who was the love of his life. David also leaves three brothers, Theo Cyr of Glastonbury, Conrad “Chuck” Cyr and his wife Kathy of Maine, and Michael Cyr and his wife Linda of Maine; as well as three sisters, Rinette Lavoie of New Hartford, Esther Lavoie and her husband Roger of South Windsor, and Linda Cyr of Glastonbury; many nieces, nephews, former co-workers, and dear friends. Along with his beloved parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Monique Michaud, Verna Cyr and Rena Vaillancourt; and his brother, Brian Cyr, as well as a large extended family.
Private graveside services will be in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in David’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 111 Founders Plaza, 2nd Floor, East Hartford, CT 06108.
