Cheryl Ann Steinmetz, age 58, of Vernon, passed away in her home unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Born in Hartford, Conn., on March 24, 1962, she is the daughter of Philip and Susan (Glennie) Steinmetz. Cheryl is a native to East Hartford, where she attended George J. Penney High School. She was looking forward to continuing attending courses at Manchester Community College for the fall of 2020. Cheryl had a huge heart and loved helping people. She was compassionate, intuitive, intelligent, confident, and kind.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl leaves behind her loving children; Venessa Steinmetz, Jesse Thibodeau-Steinmetz and his wife Bayley, who is expecting their first son. Cheryl was excited to become a grandmother. Cheryl also leaves behind her six siblings; Christopher Steinmetz and his wife Cathy, Mark Steinmetz and his wife Jean, Shelly Polo, Heidi and Jim DeLisle, Cathy Casali and her husband David, Jill Marino and her husband Carl, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be under social distancing protocol and all guests are encouraged to wear face masks. It will be held on Sunday, June 14th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at The Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately.
