Aurore B. (Lapre) Lajoie, 94, of East Hartford, loving wife of 37 years of the late Perley Lajoie, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Born in Fall River, MA on April 11, 1930, a daughter of the late Wilfrid and Marie (Trahan) Lapre, she had been a resident of East Hartford for over 65 years. A devout catholic, Aurore prayed daily and was a longtime faithful communicant of the former Blessed Sacrament Church and recently of St. Christopher Church in East Hartford. She enjoyed walking around her neighborhood and took pride in being a good homemaker. Most of all, she was a proud mother and grandmother who adored her grandchildren and spending time with her entire family.
Aurore is survived by her five devoted children, Michael Lajoie of Manchester; Arthur Lajoie and his wife Roseann of Bolton; Irene; Elaine; and Philip Lajoie and his wife Gina of Manchester. She also leaves a brother, Normand Lapre and his wife Elaine of Warwick, RI; twelve special grandchildren; seven cherished great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Besides her beloved husband and parents, she was predeceased by fourteen siblings.
Funeral service will be Tuesday (November 26th) at 9:30 am from the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Christopher Church of North American Martyrs Parish, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Monday (November 25th) from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
