Born in Lockport, NY, to the late Aloysius F. and Edna (Volschow) Ulrich, Fred was a beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Jeanne M. (nee Emendorfer) Ulrich, and is survived by his children, Scott W. (Tammy) Ulrich of Amherst, NY, and Jacqueline A. (Ulrich) Wekenmann of Harmony, NC; and his five grandchildren, Melanie and Torrie Ulrich, and Anthony, Lauren, and Lindsey Wekenmann.
Fred is also survived by his dear brother Ronald (Debbie) Ulrich of Dayton, Ohio; his brother-in-law Robert Dohring; and was predeceased by his late sister Elizabeth, along with his late sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Lee Schermerhorn.
Fred attended Norwich University in Vermont and later studied at The United States Air Force Institute of Technology through Syracuse University where he completed a one-year Russian Translation Program.
Fred spent the majority of his career at Harrison Radiator division of General Motors in Lockport, NY, where he retired after many years of dedicated service.
Fred enjoyed working in his yard, boating, fishing, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He also had a great love for the weather and cherished time spent with family.
Fred will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
No prior visitation. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a Committal Service with Military Honors at Cold Springs Cemetery, 4849 Cold Springs Rd. (corner of Chestnut Ridge Rd.), Lockport, NY 14094 on Thursday (November 7, 2024) at 12noon. Please assemble at the cemetery.
