OBITUARY Dunn, NC Mr. Thomas Gray Strickland, Sr. age 72, of Gainey Rd., Dunn died Monday, October 24, 2016 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Mr. Strickland was born in Harnett County on May 19, 1944 the son of the late Luke Strickland and is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Gene Strickland. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era, and was retired from Westside Oil Co in Dunn. He was a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Joseph Wallis officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. He is survived by: His wife: Marie Naylor Strickland of the home. His Mother: Mrs. Christine Strickland of Dunn, NC; Sons: Thomas G. Strickland, Jr. & (wife) Carol of Dunn, NC; Percy L. Strickland & (wife) Angie of Richmond, Va.; Grandsons: Naylor, Drake, Huck, Jasper & Tamon; Granddaughters: Erin Gray, Ala Marie, Essence & E.D.Lu; Brothers: Ralph Strickland & (wife) Pat of Dunn, NC and Donnie Strickland of Dunn, NC; Sisters: Joyce Raynor & (husband) Bobby of Fayetteville, NC and Peggy Baker of Dunn, NC; Many Nieces & Nephews The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, October 26, 2016 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn and at other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church, 311 Centennial Lane, Dunn, NC 28334
