Mary Christian Bridgers Rand, age 83, of Lillington, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Mary Christian was born in Wilson, North Carolina on January 17, 1939. She graduated from high school in Wilson where she wrote for the school newspaper. She attended the University of North Carolina, Greensboro for two years, and then graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She lived in Greensboro for many years. Mary loved dogs, and raised Newfoundlands and Norfolk Terriers. She also enjoyed trading on the stock market. She is survived by her eldest son, Walter Rand, IV and his wife, Stephanie Rand, and their daughter, Olivia Rand, and her younger son, Everett Rand, his partner, Gioia Palmieri, and their daughter Irena Rand. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Bridgers, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Rowland Bridgers and Helen Winstead Privett Bridgers, her brother, John Bridgers, her sister, Patricia Harriss and Brother-in-law, Henry Harriss.
