Margaret Lee Bowman

Margaret Lee Barefoot Bowman, age 78, of Dunn died Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh. Margaret was born in Sampson County on June 13 1937 the daughter of the late Willie Carlton and Eva Jackson Barefoot and is preceded in death by her husband Leroy Raymond Bowman, Jr., a daughter Vickie James, a granddaughter Hailey Bowman , a great granddaughter T’yanna Cole a son-in-law Steven Staley, sisters Cathyrn Barnett and Debra Lucas and brothers W. C. Barefoot, Donnie Ray Barefoot, Ronnie Barefoot and Tony Barefoot. Mrs. Bowman was retired from the textile industry where she was recognized for perfect attendance with over 27 years of service. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life and she cherished all the times spent with her whole family whether at home, or camping up in the mountains or down at the beach. She was a dedicated member of the New Covenant Church in Benson, NC. A Celebration of her life will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 2:00 pm, in Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Meeks and Pastors Ronnie and Betty Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens. She is survived by: Daughters: Ann Sluik & John of Dunn, NC, Brenda Staley of Dunn, NC; Cathy Marshall & Vince of Dunn, NC; Sandra Meeks & Gary of Raleigh, NC and Gloria Matthews of Dunn, NC A Son: Robert Bowman & Cindy of Raleigh, NC A Son-in-Law: Frank James of Dunn, NC Sisters: Janet Wynn & Rufus, Pamela Hudson & J.R. and Tammy Maynor & Marlon Brothers: Benny Barefoot & Louise, Ernest Gale Barefoot, Dwight Barefoot & Larue, Brookie Barefoot & Angela, Ricky Barefoot & Teresa, Danny Barefoot & Elizabeth and Mickey Barefoot & Pam 24 Grandchildren & 40 Great Grandchildren The Family will receive friends Thursday, June 2 , 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home other times at the home.
