Linda Hayes Brinson, passed away peacefully on June 07, 2024, in her hometown of Dunn, NC. Born to Branson and Brenda Hayes on September 6, 1968 in Fayetteville, NC, she was a beacon of light and warmth in the community she dearly loved.
Linda was a cherished member to the Hayes family. She was the sister to four brothers, Mickey Odom, Billy Odom, Ronald Hayes, and Johnny Hayes. Through her brothers marital unions, she gained her sisters, Trilma Odom, wife of Micky Odom, and Melissa Hayes, wife of Johnny Hayes. Linda was a beloved sister, whom through her four brothers, considered it a privilege to be called Aunt Linda by her thirteen nephews and nieces.
On September 7, 1986, she married the love of her life, Theodore Roosevelt Brinson III, affectionately known as Buddy, in Fayetteville, NC. Unbeknownst to her, this would mark the beginning of a shared life of 37 years filled with love and devotion. Her faithfulness, dedication, and tender care to her husband will be forever cherished and missed. Through this beautiful union, Linda would become the mother to three sons, Jonathan, Justin , and Joseph Brinson. It was one of her greatest joys to be a mother to her boys. In November of 2011, Linda’s son Jonathan, would marry Danesse Visey. She was ecstatic to finally have a daughter. In May of 2017, Linda would add another daughter to her family as her son Joseph, would marry Caroline Rivenbark. Her love for her children knew no bounds, as she was there for her kids through the good times and the hard times.
Linda’s legacy would continue through her children. In November, 2014, Linda would become a grandmother for the very first time. This would be the first of three grandkids over a nine year period. “Gammu”, as she liked to be called, loved her three grandkids very much. She had two granddaughters, Phebe and Naomi Brinson, by her oldest son Jonathan and his wife Danesse, and one grandson, Theodore Brinson (Theo), by her son Joseph and his wife Caroline.
An avid gardener, Linda was passionate about landscaping her yard, creating her own little sanctuary, away from the world. She also loved her dogs and cats very much through the years, as she had soft spot for animals. She particularly took interest in watching the squirrels play in the yard while she sat on her front porch, drinking her coffee with cream.
Through the years, Linda developed many friendships. Her closest friends were Bonnie Shifflett and Susan Jarman. These were Linda’s “sissy’s” as she would call them. She will forever cherish the many conversations over the phone and on the porch.
Linda’s most cherished relationship is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who saved her soul on January 22, 1992 at 11:00 am. Her favorite Bible verse was Psalms 84:11. She was an active member of Spring Branch Baptist Church in Dunn, NC and enjoyed going on visitation with her husband Buddy when he served as a Deacon.
