"When you worry and hurry through your day
Its like an unopened gift that is thrown away
Life is not a race
Do take it slower
Hear the music and enjoy the dance
Before the song is over
And you lose your chance
Remember to slow down
And don't dance too fast
For time is short
The music wont last"
- Hannah Elizabeth West
Hannah lived her life to the fullest every day. She did not allow herself to be caged, but rather she chose to follow after the wind within her sails and be free. She had a spirit that could only be compared to that of wild horses. Beautiful and untamed, she roamed through this life without any regard to what tomorrow may bring but rather she focused on today and how she could make the most of the day before her. She loved to express herself, she had went through every trend and phase imaginable. She was not afraid to be herself and she took her time figuring out which version of Hannah that she liked best and at 23, she was happy with who she was. A daughter, sister, aunt and girlfriend; and she had planned to become a veterinarian technician. She treasured her family and the time she was given with them; especially her nieces and nephews who she would do anything for just to see a smile cross their faces. Hannah was just a small town, country girl, simple in a lot of ways but if you didn't know better you would have thought she was famous as she called everyone friend and was known by many; many who loved her for her beautiful heart and quirky personality. The way she was so free and unwilling to be tamed made those in her presence feel alive. Hannah loved nature! She enjoyed days spent at the lake with her sister and brother-in-law, she loved to fish and be near the water. She had a very special bond with her sister B.J. they referred to each other as Thelma and Louise as they were just a like and inseparable. There wasn't much Hannah loved more though, than animals. There wasn't an animal that she wouldn't befriend. From opossums to the many turtles whom she would have to have the car stop for to help cross the road, she loved and respected all of God's creation. Whenever we see a shooting star or flash of lightning in the summer night sky, we can admire it and think of Hannah, because her energy is there.
In addition to her parents, Hannah leaves behind the following members of her family to cherish her memory: Grandmother: Betty Walker; Sisters: Holly Stewart and husband Timothy and Betty "B.J," West; Brothers: Stacey Johnson and wife Alisha and Thomas West and wife Alicia; One Sister-in-law: Samantha West; Nieces: Alexis West, Brianna Johnson, Aubrey Johnson and Cheyenne West; Nephews: Hunter West, Levi West, Aayden West, Eli West, Brayden Johnson, Walker West and Waylon West.
