George Hanibal Strickland

Mr. George H. Strickland, age 90 of Dunn died, Monday, March 13, 2023 at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn.

Mr. Strickland was born September 29, 1932 in Sampson County the son of the late Luther Strickland and Margaret “Maggie” Pope Strickland and is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Strickland retired from Burlington Industries with over 40 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed working in his garden and mowing grass. He loved to go fishing, whether it was in a country pond or at the beach. He enjoyed listen to gospel music.

Mr. Strickland was a family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Grace Chapel Church with Rev. Jerome Pope and Rev. Raeford McCloud officiating. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens.

He is survived by: His Wife: Margaret M. Strickland of the home.

Sons: Tony Strickland & (wife) Wanda of Dunn, NC.

Dobie Strickland of Erwin, NC.

Daughters: Goldie Ivey of Benson, NC

Jenny Gregory & (husband) Mark of Benson, NC

Annette Bayles & (husband) Ronald of Dunn, NC,

9 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm at Grace Chapel Church in Dunn.
