Mrs. Brenda Lee Monds Jackson, 75, of Erwin, NC, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn, NC. She was born on September 30, 1948, in Harnett County, NC, to the late Lawrence Monds and Mattie Solis Monds.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Monds and Lloyd Monds. Brenda is survived by her sister, Edna Stanley, of Dunn, NC, and her brother, James Leo Monds, and wife Frances, of Clayton, NC.
Brenda was a loving wife to her surviving husband, David V. Jackson, of Dunn, NC. Her devotion extended to her children, including her daughter Regina McLean and husband Rodney of Erwin, NC, and her son Travis Cain and wife Christy of Marshville, NC. Brenda cherished her role as a grandmother and leaves behind fond memories with her 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Brenda was a member of Erwin's Chapel Church, where her faith played a central role in her life. She served as a custodian with Gospel Tabernacle Church for over 30 years, leaving a lasting impact on her community through her commitment and hard work.
Brenda's family remembers her as the backbone of their family, a woman of resilience, quick wit, and natural leadership. She was known for her decisive nature— it was her way or the highway. Brenda's unyielding support and strength were evident as she always picked up the pieces for others when they weren't strong enough to do it for themselves.
Brenda found joy in simple pleasures, such as playing solitaire and staying connected with loved ones through Facebook. She also loved anything starring Steve Harvey, almost as much as she loved her son-in-law, Rodney.
Above all, Brenda loved Jesus, and her unwavering faith brought her comfort in the knowledge that she had a home in Heaven.
Mrs. Brenda Lee Monds Jackson will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 15, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at
Gospel Tabernacle Church.
