It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Steve Binch, on May 17 after a long illness. Much loved husband, father, grandfather, policeman and retiree. Survived by his loving wife Rose, his sister Lynn Clare, his daughter Tracey Lee, his granddaughter Brookelynn Leanne Sestric, nephew and niece, many cousins and many, many friends. Special thanks to Dr Martin Kolb and Dr Justin Weresch. He served proudly with the Hamilton Police for 32 years. During 22 years of retirement he was a valued volunteer and leader in his many adventures with golf, hiking, bicycling, motorcycles, camper vans and local charities. He was a Shriner and reached the 13th Degree. Steve founded the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) Support Group in Hamilton. With his leadership other groups have spread across Ontario. Donations to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (cpff.ca) in lieu of flowers please. Celebration of Life when permitted.
