Loving and devoted husband to Shirley, loving father to Rick Beaul (Christine), Jeff Beaul (Kim), and pre-deceased by his darling son Jerry Beaul. Wonderful loving grandfather to Crystal Gill (Dave), Trina Moretton (Michael), Lily Beaul (Tara), and Brittany Beaul. Papa to his great-grandchildren Jacob, Quentin, and Jordan Gill, Hailey and Lucas Moretton.
Bob was born in Bothwell, Ontario in 1937. He followed his father Orval’s career in the railway. He began working with the CNR in his teens as a telegraph operator, being fluent in Morse Code. He met and married his wife Shirley, as a very young man, and the two have been inseparable ever since, celebrating 66 years of marriage. He enjoyed a long career with CN, then later with Go Transit. He had a lifelong love of trains. He was an active member and past president of the Copetown Lions Club. He was an avid gardener who took special pride in his asparagus, tomatoes, and onions. He spent decades golfing with his friends and family. He enjoyed creating memorable wood carvings at the Burlington Arts Centre and creating beautiful stained-glass art which he gifted to all of his friends, neighbours, and acquaintances through his life. He made friends wherever he went and will be missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Joseph Brant ICU for their exemplary care during Bob's illness.
The family will receive friends at Marlatt Funeral Home-Swackhamer Chapel, 195 King Street West, Dundas, on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 12 noon to 2 pm. Service to follow immediately at 2 pm. Burial at White Chapel Memorial Garden Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the CNIB would be appreciated by his family.
