He was a loving father to Nicole and Taylor Clarkson. Brother to Marty Clarkson and Patty Mackenzie. Cherished Grandpa of Mason, Mackenzie and Austin. He will forever be remembered by the love of his life Kim Simon.
He was born on February 10, 1961, the son of William “Bill” Clarkson and Eileen Rooney. Member of the Local 851 Bricklayers Union. As a child, Randy was an avid hockey player, and enjoyed playing golf in tournaments as well with family and friends. Early on Randy apprenticed with his father Bill “Gert” Clarkson in the craft of Stone Masonry. He worked alongside his father for many years where his incredible talent became recognised & sought after on many projects. He left behind much lasting work throughout Dundas, Flamborough, and surrounding area. Some of his most notable work accomplishments were the Dundas Peak lookout, the Cobble Stone Bridge at Websters Falls, the Pillars at the entrance of the Dundas Driving Park, some lookouts at Tews Falls, and worked on many other surrounding properties for the Hamilton and Dundas Conservation Authorities.
Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the Family on Friday Oct 28, 2022 at the Marlatt Funeral Home, 195 King Street West, Dundas from 11am to 12pm with a service to start at 12pm.
Friends and family are welcome to join after the memorial service at the Royal Canadian Legion at 280 King Street West, Dundas at 1pm for a celebration of life for Randy. We can all join together, and party one last time as Randy did best, like a Rockstar.
Donations on Randy’s behalf would be greatly appreciated and a GoFundMe page has been set up to accept Donations. All money raised will go towards his celebration of life, the Juravinski Cancer Center and any remaining money into an Education Savings Plan for his Grandchildren.
