Dorothy Lambeth passed away January 3, 2021 with her wonderful friend Iggy by her side. She was born in 1933 to her parents Maisie and Tom Lambeth. She was predeceased by her brother (Tom) Michel Lambeth and sister Joan Emery. She is survived by her nieces Karen (Roy), Diane (Rick), Marilyn (Doug), great-niece Susanne (Jeff), great-nephews Scott and Marc (Paula) plus a great-great niece Nathalie and great great nephew Cyrus. Dorothy pursued a career in nursing obtaining her BA, MA and BSCN through universities in Toronto and Hamilton. She spent several years nursing in Thunder Bay then became a leader in Nursing Education in Hamilton spending 40 years at Mohawk College until her retirement in 1998. She began teaching courses then developed nursing programs that were distributed to other nursing educators across Canada and then rose to the position of Dean of Applied Arts and Health Care to become the first female dean at Mohawk College. In her last ten years she took her programs and partnered internationally with South China, Cairo and the Middle East. She was a member of many College Boards and also sat on Boards outside the College such as Amity Goodwill Board, RNAO, First Unitarian Church Council and Ontario Council of College Nurses. For her enjoyment she played golf, joined art groups and supported the Shaw and Stratford festivals and became a member of the AGO. She enjoyed collecting works of art to display throughout her home. She had a great love of travel and took trips to Venezuela, Brazil, Panama, American Samoa, New Zealand, Fiji, France and her favourite country Spain. Dorothy filled her life with her love of animals especially her cats. She always had the companionship of one or two cats during her life. She added a dog now and then with her German Shepherd Lady earlier in her life and her beloved poodle Pierre in her later years.
