Passed away peacefully at The Brant Centre on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Barry will be deeply missed by his loving wife Heather (nee Fraser), his son David and his wife Laura, and his grandsons Everett and Alexander.
Born in Oakville in 1943 to Everett and Betty (nee Bray), Barry was a fixture of the town for many years, most notably as the morning voice of CHWO 1250 Radio, and then at AM 740. He seemed born to talk and was always able to get a conversation going with just about anyone. He loved his home life with his family, lounging by the pool, a good laugh and music.
The last few years had been tough as dementia slowly took pieces of him, until there wasn’t much left of the Barry everyone knew. It was the hardest watching a man who filled the airwaves with his words for so many years slowly lose his ability to put words together, and eventually to speak at all.
A Celebration of Barry's Life will be held at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 195 King Street West, Dundas on Saturday, November 2nd from 2-4pm.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at AgeCare Brant for their kindness and care over the last few years.
If desired, donations may be made to AgeCare Brant or the Alzheimer’s Society.
A gentle man and a gentleman.
