It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Batchelor on February 22, 2025. The youngest sibling of nine, "Young Eric" was born on August 20, 1925 in Chislehurst, England. Eric emigrated to Vancouver in 1957. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Lynn Erica in 1956 and his wife Isabelle Agnes (Bella) in 1979.
Eric is survived by his son Ian (Barb) and grandson Thomas. Eric is also survived by his second wife, Adair, with whom he spent 45 happy years, also by Adair's family Glenda (Pete), Dan (Frances) and Shannon; grandchildren Bryan, Mike (Paula), Nick (Arely) and Anna (Graeme) and great grandchildren Dallas, Hudson, Opal, Parker and Sullivan. Eric is also survived by extended family Down Under and in England. We would also like to thank the staff at Oakwood Manor in Victoria for their kind and loving care.
In lieu of flowers, donations sent to the Canadian Diabetes Association and/or Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Memorial, 375 Brae Road, Duncan on March 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
