Dad lived in Princeton before moving to Vancouver Island in the 60’s. During his life he was a mechanic, baker, worked for various road constructions companies before settling in with the Department of Highways. Dad loved to tinker in his woodworking shop creating many different items over the years. He took pride in his gardens, taking long drives with Jo and their dog Chico, and traveling around in their many RVs over the years. One of Dads most favorite things to do was to take walks, holding hands with the love of his last 24 years. Dad loved his garden growing giant pumpkins, gourds, eating raspberries, prawns and he never turned down a good strawberry shake. Dad loved canning; pickled onions, tomatoes and peaches were some of his favorite things to can.
Dad enjoyed reminiscing with his brothers and many friends. He was always there to lend a hand to his family and friends. Don had many people in his life that were special to him, more than we personally knew; Marilyn, Neil and Chris, to name a few.
There will be no service at his request. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the BCSPCA, or a charity of your choice in his memory. Cremation is being taken care of by First Memorial Funeral Services of Duncan, BC.
