Michael Krocka had a heart that radiated love and light into everyone around him. Everywhere I went with Mike he put a smile on the face of a stranger and his acquaintances would almost always be laughing as he walked away. Mike gave people joy.

Mike’s own laughter came from the center of his being, he could let out a belly laugh and like magic everyone in earshot would be smiling for no reason. I once saw the entire crowd at Movies in the Park turn around to see who was laughing so wildly at the movie, and then everyone else started laughing too, a reminder that we should enjoy life to the fullest.

Mike was thoughtful and generous. Once Mike gave a beautiful potted plant arrangement to the manager who used to work at the DTA and every time I went there with him the plant was there by her window and though Sprinkles had chewed on some of the leaves she had nursed it back to health and the plants were growing and beautiful. I imagine that she saw that plant every day and it must have put a smile on her face thinking of Mike.

Mike showed incredible courage in the face of very difficult challenges. He might be the first to tell you he wasn’t perfect, but every time I saw Mike doing someone wrong he always went and found that person later and apologized, because Mike was a very good man.

Mike worked hard to achieve his goals and he did achieve many of them, including dragging me onto the ferris wheel and tilt-a-whirl at the carnival. I wish I had a photo to share of Mike at the top of the ferris wheel with all the lights of Duluth at night swirling around him because I think he was really living the dream in that moment, free of all worldly cares.

My condolences to the Krocka family.Mike I will miss you always.You were a good friend to me, my bunny Dipseydoodle, and Sprinkles.I will miss you as a neighbor.Its too quiet without you anymore.You are just a sweetheart that made everybody laugh and smile.You invited me to your birthday parties just as I invited you to all of mine.Say hi to your parents for me dear and be sure to to them jokes and make them laugh like you did while you did when you were alive.Its sad that we all got to die sometime but you will be in Heaven with God where their will be no more pain where former things have been flown away and it talks about that in the Bible in the chapter Revelations if you ever read it when you were alive.Im going to miss having you as an upstairs neighbor, honey.

My deepest condolences to Mike's family!  

Mike was a wonderful friend, a character who brought plenty of smiles and hearty laughs to my day! We shared many family memories with each other and had very serious talks about life, dreams and even death. Even after Mike moved away from Chester Creek, we stayed in touch.  He loved living in his own apartment, getting to know the new neighborhood and making new friends. This was one of his dreams and it was a joy seeing it come to fruition.  

Mike loved his family dearly! He enjoyed the holiday gatherings, playing games and spending time with everyone. He always came back with stories to share and would immediately start planning for the next family get together. 
 
Mike was a great guy and a terrific friend that taught me so much! No matter what the obstacle, he was a fighter, striving to better his life, work hard at his job and do the activities that made him happy, like playing with Sprinkles, going camping, taking a vacation to camp, building a new lego creation, or going out to eat.  These types of things were important to him.   

Mike, I will miss you and your hugs!  Say hi to our friends, Gary, David, and Karen!  

Uncle Mike,  We are all going to miss you, especially at Christmas. You made us all smile and laugh, and Catch Phrase just won't be the same without you! Give grandma and grandpa a big hug for all of us!

Mike was our friend, coworker, and a valued member of the Airpark team for almost nine years. Mike had many accomplishments in recent years that he was very proud of. He worked hard at The Inn on Lake Superior as a Laundry Room Attendant and was hoping to work into a housekeeping position. Mike had moved into his own place of residence and was a loving and responsible caregiver to his beloved cat Sprinkles. He was always eager to visit and help animals whenever he could. Mike spoke fondly of a girlfriend and enjoyed spending time with his friends. He was often light-hearted and joked around with many. He openly engaged with people everywhere he went. Mike will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor, kind heart, and tenacious drive when something was important to him. He will be missed by each one of us at Airpark Products and Services. Our deepest condolences go out to Mike’s family, friends, and so many others who are also mourning his passing.
