She was born February 12, 1932 in Duluth, to Leo and Pearl Johnson. Janet was a 1950 graduate of Denfeld High School. In August of 1960 she married Ray K. Jackson.
Janet was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church and involved in many church circles. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the West Duluth Women’s Club. Janet was active in the Merritt West Jr. and Denfeld P.T.A., the Golden Arrow, St Francis and St. Joseph’s Travel Clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 1995; her son, Douglas in 2003; her parents; a sister, Eleanor Hann; and nephew, Gary Hann.
Janet is survived by her children, Bruce (Christopher Kulp) Jackson, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Brian (Kirsten) Jackson of Hermantown and Linda (Tim) Jago of Duluth; four grandchildren, Christopher Jackson, Jessica Jackson, Brandon Jackson and Rebecca Jago; four step-grandchildren, Trina Jago, Natalie Jago, Alicia Jago and Ben Senich; her sister, Adair (Rolland) Piper of Superior; three nieces, Cindy (Jim) Johnstone, Nancy (Dennie) Visger and Susan Blegen. Janet will be missed by many friends and family.
