Alma Fontaine

She was born May 19, 1913 in Walcott, North Dakota to Carl and Bessie Johnson. Alma moved to Proctor with her family in 1922. In August of 1929, Alma married Leo S. Fontaine.

Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Leo in 1985; her parents; a brother, Orville Johnson, in 1979; and sisters, Myrtle Coughlin, in 2001 and Gladys Johnson, in 2009.

She is survived by four daughters, Joyce Laurila, of Hermantown, Darlene (Augustine) Baldonado, of Aurora, Audrey (Wayne) Johanson, of Duluth and Lois (Wayne) Noe, of Elizabeth, CO; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Ethel Fairbanks, of Proctor; and sister-in-law, Anne Johnson, of Proctor; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are preferred to St. Luke’s Hospice in lieu of flowers.

Visitation from 1:00pm until the 2:00pm Mass of Christian Burial Friday, December 10th at St. Rose Catholic Church, 3 – 6th Avenue, Proctor.
