Agnes Helen (Oustad) Berglund, 95, died peacefully on November 12, 2010 at Lakeshore Lutheran Home in Duluth. Agnes was born March 26, 1915 to Elvira and Annar Oustad. She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1933. Agnes worked in the St. Louis County Courthouse for 10 years, starting as a Clerk and promoted to Deputy Probation Officer. She also worked as a Secretary for the Tupperware office in Duluth for many years. Agnes was an active member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd where she was a member of the Deborah/Priscilla Circle and served on the Church Council. “Aggie” will be remembered by all as a fun loving person with a great sense of humor, though sometimes corny. She loved being outdoors in the woods and lakes of the Gunflint Trail and helped build a cabin with her husband, John, on West Bearskin Lake. They loved camping, portaging, snowmobiling and enjoying the woods. Aggie loved calling to the loons from the deck of her cabin and often slept in a screen porch on the deck just to be outside with the woods and creatures. She loved the sun and always found a place to sit where the sun would find her. The staff at Lakeshore would often find her sunning herself by a window like a cat. Aggie was preceded in death by first husband Robert Gibson, second husband, John R. Berglund; siblings, Margit Mehrman, Maynard Oustad and Katherine Lundberg; daughter Barbara Lund and granddaughter Christiane Lund. Agnes will be remembered by her son, John “Jay” Berglund, her daughter, Joan (Alan) Peterson, grandchildren Dario (Jeanne) Anselmo, Greg Anselmo, Robert Lund, Alexis (Jeff) Christensen, Christian (Velvet) Peterson, Kim Lund, Tres ( Jennifer) Lund, and Shauna (Patrick) McFeeley; great grandchildren, Andrew, Aidan and Ally Anselmo, Ethan and Ellie Christensen, Drew and Jack Peterson, Ben and Annie Lund, Amanda, Madison and Ashley McFeeley, Ellie Lund, Zack, Madeline and Sam Wagner-Lund; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
