Susan Jane (Steadman) Marsh, 82, of Columbus and formerly Worthington, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Carriage Court of Hilliard. She was born in Bellaire, Ohio on September 24, 1939, to the late Elmer and Helen (Porter) Steadman. She was a 1956 graduate of Shadyside High School and 1958 graduate of Columbus Business University.
Throughout her career Susan was a secretary, realtor, and artist under the name Smarsh Illustrations. Her award-winning pen and ink drawings were displayed in local businesses, featured in numerous advertisements and were coveted gifts for many new homeowners throughout the years. She was also a published poet and designed the 1990 Pipe Creek Flood Memorial, near Shadyside, Ohio. She was a Methodist by faith, and a Stephen Minister at Linworth United Methodist Church. Her proudest role in life was being a mother and grandmother.
Susan is survived by her son Tim (Beth) Marsh of Dublin and daughter Patty (Pat) Sullivan of Gainesville, Georgia; grandsons Brian, Kevin, and Jason Marsh, all of Columbus; granddaughters Maggie and Makenzie (fiancée Ethan Southern) Sullivan of Georgia; former husband David Marsh; sisters Rose Consolo of Columbus, Nancy (Jim) Duncan of Shadyside and Becky (Tom) Morgan of Pipe Creek; nephews Jay and Joe Duncan and Gabe Morgan, as well as numerous cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lee Steadman.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Dublin followed by a memorial service at Linworth United Methodist Church in Worthington on Friday, June 17 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Linworth UMC, the American Diabetes Association, Dementia research or the Salvation Army.
