With great sorrow, the Lowry (Eberly) family announce the passing of a kind, loving and unimaginably generous mother, sister and devoted friend who was taken to the heavens this week to rest in eternal peace with her Father. Susan passed away suddenly enjoying a fun day of golf and after brief hospice care surrounded by her loving son Ryan, Colleen, and sisters, she was called home on Saturday, March 4th and received into the loving arms of the angels.
Susan was passionate about golf and enjoyed playing in weekly leagues and at many courses across the state. Ryan was both her most favored partner and patient teacher who helped develop her game into one of enviable precision. Susan was a steadfast giver of both time and resources to help anyone in need and enjoyed life to the fullest with so many dear friends and family. She committed herself to organizing events that would celebrate life and her family and friends. She was blessed with the unparalleled gift to plan opportunities to enjoy countless moments of happiness and fun. She was enormously generous and loving to her nieces, nephews and cousins (and second) providing constant reminders to each letting them know how deeply they were loved and appreciated.
Susan was an avid sports fan with her devotion to the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals which was evident as she would not miss watching any games and making an occasion of rooting them on to victory (or consoling in defeat). Her thoughtfulness was felt in daily texts, calls or gatherings where she knew of everything that was important to others and constantly made notes to herself so she wouldn’t miss reaching out with acknowledgement of friendship or concern. She was like a surrogate mother to many of her son’s friends and enjoyed time with them either playing golf, watching a sporting event or just being together for whatever mattered at the time.
Susan graduated from St Joseph’s Academy and retired after 30 successful years from the Bureau of Workers Comp.
Susan is preceded in death by her father Francis, her mother Darleen and her brothers Casey, Bill, Pat and Ric. She is survived by her son Ryan (Colleen), sisters Kitty (Jerry) Visintine, Betsy (Bill) Hale, Margie (Steve) Ator, Molly Eberly, Mary Eberly, and Colleen Rezabek as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 7, 2023 from 4-7pm at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN; 5980 Perimeter Drive Dublin, Ohio 43017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday March 8, 2023 at 11am at St. Joan of Arc; 10700 Liberty Road Powell, Ohio 43065.
