Dublin, Ohio – Laura May Read, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2022.

Laura was born August 8, 1937, in Monessen, PA to the late Jeannette and Frank Myron Maxwell. Preceded in death by her brother, George Maxwell. On August 27, 1960, she married William (Bill) Joseph Read in Monessen, PA, and they shared 62 wonderful years. Laura is survived by her three children, Kim Vallone of Batavia, IL (husband Glenn), Carrie McCament of Charlotte, NC (husband Brian), and William Read of Powell, OH (wife Mary Anne); grandchildren, Gabrielle Hamilton (husband David), Jacob Vallone (wife Allie), Brooks McCament (wife Courtney), Caden McCament, Victoria Read, Trace McCament, Isabella Read, and Augustus Read; brother, Oakley Maxwell (wife, Patti); sister-in-law, Sherry Stover (Lloyd), and many nieces and nephews.

Laura was famously known for a deep love of her family and friends and an uncanny ability to keep up with our life milestones. She had a celebratory soul and never missed an opportunity to throw a party or send a gift or card to those she loved. She also had a passion for serving others and volunteering for hospitals, churches, and not-for-profit organizations. Laura was an avid reader with a phenomenal memory and a seeker of knowledge. If there were ever questions about anything, the answer was typically, “ask Laura.” We will remember her positive outlook, infectious sense of humor, and killer instincts at a poker table. She was beautiful on the inside and out, with a tender soul and a huge heart.

Bill and Laura loved to visit new places and saw much of America and the world on their journey together.

A Memorial Service celebrating Laura’s life will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, OH 43017. Immediately following, a gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate Laura’s life.

Rest in peace, Laura. Your laughter, joy, and storytelling will long echo in our memory and hearts.
