Gilbert Charles Albee passed away at the age of 75 on September 9, 2022 in Dublin, Ohio. Gil was born in Midland, MI to Lorine and Keith Albee on May 25, 1947. Gil graduated from Midland High School and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Purdue University. Boiler Up! He worked for Alcoa Fujikura in Nashville, TN and Dearborn, MI and retired from Sumitomo Electric in Marysville, OH. Gil loved woodworking and was an accomplished furniture maker. He prided himself on his yard and constantly tended it by planting flowers, shrubs, and trees. He was a sports enthusiast and played on several recreational sports teams when he was younger. In more recent years he enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He regularly kept up with the latest Purdue sports news and never missed watching or listening to games. He was an avid puzzler and loved playing card games and board games. Gil will be remembered for his compassion for others, patience under pressure, and his ability to make anyone laugh at any time. A celebration of his life will take place in Midland, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his mother Lorine (Varner) Albee, father Keith Albee, and sister Kathy Sroczynski. Gil is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Rosemary (Kowalski) Albee, daughter Stephanie (Rob) Isgrigg, daughter Alison (Justin Morgan), grandchildren Benjamin, Nathan, Peter, and Maggie, sisters Sue VanMaastricht, Peggy Walker, Deborah Albee, Melissa (Ron) Perry, and brother Bruce (Jaylene) Albee and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be dearly missed. Gil gave in death as he gave in life. He was an organ and tissue donor through Lifeline of Ohio.
