Francis William Pottmeyer Jr.

Francis (Frank) William Pottmeyer Jr., died on May 18, 2023, in Dublin, Ohio. Born and raised in St. Louis, MO on November 19, 1935. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank William Pottmeyer and Marie Freudestein Pottmeyer and baby brother Richard. Frank was the beloved husband of Carol Portis Pottmeyer, wife of 61 years and his brothers David Alan Pottmeyer, James (Sandra) Cummings Pottmeyer, nephew Steven (Victoria) Pottmeyer and great nephew Thomas Jefferson Pottmeyer.

After St. Stephen's grade school, Frank graduated from CBC High School and St. Louis University. Frank then became a proud Captain in the Marine Corp. As an expert in Pistol and Rifle, he was captain of the riffle team that won the Hawaiian-Pacific Rifle Regional. After military service, Frank went to work in marketing with Falstaff Brewing Company for 15 years and Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company for 18 more years, where he was known by many as the "Gentleman of Anheuser-Busch". He spent his retirement traveling with Carol, driving Europe and taking many cruises each year. He was a member of the Muirfield Village Golf Club and a "mostly non-golfer" of the Geezers Group.

On June 16, at 11:00 am there will be a Mass at St. Stephen's Protomartyr Catholic Church, 3131 Wilmington Avenue. At 1:00 pm there will be a Military Ceremony conducted by Marines and interment at Jefferson Barracks Military Cemetery.
