Diane (“DD”) Freer was welcomed into God’s arms March 10th, 2023. Diane will be remembered for being a loving wife, a caring and nurturing mother and for taking a firm stance on what she believed in. She was a very strong woman. She took pride in teaching as a career and in life and was very proud of her husband and children. Diane grew up in rural Newark Ohio and attended Miami University in Oxford, OH before transferring to The Ohio State University at which time she met the love of her life. They went on to have two boys and spent 62 beautiful years together. She will be missed for her undeniable love, desire to protect, and her ornery sense of humor and laugh. She was the pillar of her family to which they all looked for love and support.
Diane is preceded in passing by her mother and father Grace and Paul Denney, and many loving aunts uncles and cousins.
Diane is survived by her husband John; sons Jay (Sue) and Mike (Deidra); grandsons Jon (Emma) and Dustin (Erin); great grandson Aiden; sister Pat Roudins (Juris), nephews; Eric (Dee) and children, Glenn (Laura) and children; niece Debbie and son; and cousins Jack and Barb.
We ask that you not be sad in her passing but in celebration that she lived a long and wonderful life.
Family will receive guests, Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN, 5980 Perimeter Dr. Dublin, OH. A Graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17 at Newark Memorial Gardens, in Newark, OH.
