Carroll Ray Pierce of Dublin Ohio, age 83, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 1st, 2022 after a long battle with Cancer. He was born January 10th 1939 to the late Jeff and Mildred Pierce of Amarillo, Texas.
Carroll is survived by his wife Sylvia, his son Phil (Amy) Pierce of Waco, Texas, daughter Suzanne (Evan) Schwarz of Dublin, Ohio and grandchildren Devin, Austin, Owen and Ryann.
Carroll graduated from W.B. Ray High school in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1957 and joined the Marines. After his service, he moved to Houston to work at W.T. Grant where he met his future wife Sylvia. He and Sylvia were married in 1963 and embarked on a life that would span the next 60 years. Moving from Texas to Florida and many places in between they settled in Marietta, Georgia in 1981 where they would live for the next 38 years. Carroll was in sales professionally for almost 30 years. In 1992, he started his own business and never looked back. In 2019, with no family near them, they decided to move to Dublin to be near their daughter and her family.
Everyone who knew Carroll will miss him, but especially his family. He was an avid runner, participating in the Annual 4th of July Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta, along with several other local races for many years. He was a major fan of football, especially University of Georgia where he paid too much money for his daughter’s degree, and the Atlanta Falcons who he and his son would watch behind the end zone in the old Fulton county stadium. His final years were spent near his daughter and her family in Dublin, Ohio where he received great care and compassion as he aged. They were some of the happiest days of his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in Carroll’s name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
